On Reception
Terms of Service
Effective 2026-09-14
These terms are an agreement between On Reception and the business that accepts them. If you accept for a business, you confirm that you are at least 18 and have authority to bind it.
The service
On Reception answers calls that a customer forwards to it, uses information approved by the customer to answer routine questions, and records written call details for the customer. It can make mistakes. The customer remains responsible for its business, statements, appointments, prices, legal obligations, and responses to callers.
The customer controls call forwarding through its telephone carrier. On Reception cannot guarantee carrier routing, telephone availability, transcription accuracy, uninterrupted service, or that every call will be answered. The service is not an emergency service and must not be used for emergency dispatch, medical diagnosis, legal advice, or other uses where a delayed or incorrect answer could cause serious harm.
Trial, founding price, and renewal
The trial lasts seven days from the successful forwarding test. After the trial, the founding plan costs $49 USD per month and renews automatically each month until canceled. Applicable taxes may be added. The founding price remains available while that subscription stays active; canceling and later returning may require the then-current plan.
The founding plan includes a soft allowance of 60 answered calls per calendar month. Calls continue if the customer exceeds it. There is no automatic overage charge. We may contact a consistently higher-volume customer to agree on a suitable plan before changing its price or applying a lower service limit.
Payment and cancellation
The customer authorizes recurring charges to its chosen payment method. It can cancel online from Settings → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the billing screen says otherwise. If payment fails, service may continue for a seven-day grace period and then stop answering until payment is restored. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise.
Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate business information and keep approved answers current.
- Have the right to forward the telephone line and provide the data submitted.
- Give callers any notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
- Protect account access and promptly report unauthorized use.
- Disable forwarding before closing the account and follow the removal instructions.
Acceptable use
The customer must not use the service to:
- break the law, violate another person’s rights, or facilitate fraud or deception;
- make unsolicited outbound calls or messages, impersonate someone, or misrepresent AI as a human;
- collect payment-card data, passwords, government identifiers, or sensitive medical information;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, or endanger anyone;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, resell, or bypass limits or security controls; or
- submit material it does not have permission to use.
We may investigate misuse and suspend or terminate service when reasonably necessary to protect callers, the service, or others, comply with law, or prevent material harm. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the problem.
Data and service suppliers
The customer keeps ownership of its business information. It gives us permission to process that information and caller interactions only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service. We may use telephone, hosting, storage, speech, language-model, email, monitoring, and payment suppliers and may change them. Our Privacy Notice describes the data involved and retention periods.
Changes
We may change the service and these terms. If a change materially reduces customer rights or changes subscription pricing, we will give reasonable advance notice by email or in the service. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance; where law requires fresh consent, we will ask for it. Changes do not retroactively alter an already-paid period.
Ownership and feedback
On Reception and its software remain ours. The customer may use the service only for its internal business operations while its account is active. Feedback may be used without restriction or payment, without identifying the person who supplied it.
Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without implied warranties. Neither party is liable for indirect, special, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost business. On Reception’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the fees the customer paid during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law forbids them.
Ending the agreement
The customer may stop using the service and close its account. Sections that naturally continue—including payment obligations, ownership, warranty limitations, and liability limits—survive. Account closure does not itself disable forwarding at the customer’s carrier.
